Removing barriers to music education for as many children as possible is at the heart of Rocksteady鈥檚 mission. That鈥檚 why each year we distribute over 拢2million of free music teaching to some of the most disadvantaged children in society and those facing challenging circumstances.

Foundation days to delight and inspire

Free music workshops and experiences for children and young people in charities and support groups. Led by professional musicians, Foundation days are fun, inclusive and suitable for all children!

If you support children, Rocksteady can help

The Rocksteady Foundation regularly partners with charities that support children in a range of challenging circumstances, including young carers, refugees and children with special educational needs and disabilities.听

Partnering with schools to reach even more children

Working closely with schools, Rocksteady funds thousands of free bursaries for in-school music lessons, ensuring children who might otherwise miss out can participate.

The transformative impact of music can be even more powerful for those children who have additional challenges, which is why the Rocksteady Foundation aims to reach as many children as possible.听

A day of respite, memories made forever

Spending a day being creative and having fun offers valuable respite to children in difficult circumstances, whilst boosting their wellbeing and social skills.

Amplifying self-belief

For many children, especially those facing particularly challenging circumstances, being part of a Rocksteady band is where they experience a sense of belonging and pride 鈥� feeling empowered to be themselves in a safe and supportive environment.听

We were lucky enough to have Rocksteady for our Therapeutic Siblings Day at Shooting Star House. Sibling days can be challenging for the children and young people in our care, so the workshop run by the team was a welcome break.

Students who normally struggle with noise where engrossed in the instruments and music from the workshop. One student who normally shuts his eyes with unfamiliar noises was seen to remain fully focussed with his eyes open whilst playing each instrument.
